Today we are in Marseille for the 2nd time this year. From the docking place, we head to the bus stop of the free port shuttle. Just follow the marking on the ground. It runs approximately every 35 minutes to Joliette starting at 09:00 AM. Just a few meters from the Metro station. Instead, we walk past the cathedral and the museum to the old port. On Quai du Port, you'll find the starting stations of the tourist train 'Les Petits Trains de Marseille' and the hop on hop off. Today, we choose the hop on hop off.

The hop on hop off cost €23 in Marseille. Important to note, there are no more headphones available for the bus. One must download an app on their phone to receive all the information during the tour directly through their phone speakers or headphones.
Due to the temperatures, we prefer to enjoy the breeze and not get off everywhere.

At the Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde stop, we get off to take a moment to explore the basilica from the inside and outside and enjoy the view over the city and the sea.

After a pleasant visit, we continue our journey.

After a complete round with the hop on hop off bus, we decide to explore the rest of the city on foot on our way to the port. But first, a short break in one of the many bars and restaurants at Quai du Port.

As we wander through the alleys, we find beautiful stairs, shops, paintings, and more.

We reach our last sightseeing destination for today, the Cathédrale de la Major (officially Cathédrale Sainte-Marie-Majeure).

Now we are just a few meters away from the harbor entrance and the shuttle bus to the ship. All in all, we spent 5 hours out and about. That’s enough for today, Marseille, we will surely visit you again.
