A Day in Rethymno

Hello everyone,

since we had the day off today, we decided to take a little trip again. Unfortunately, the weather is still not quite cooperating, and we decided to go to Rethymno. We also asked Olivia, and she actually hadn’t been to Rethymno yet, although she has been here many times.

Rethymno is also a very beautiful little town. From Chania, it’s only a 1-hour drive there. There are charming little alleys everywhere that invite you to take a stroll through the town. Additionally, there are nice small restaurants and a harbor, like in Chania - just not quite as large.

We wandered through the alleyways all day, got Lokoumades, visited the fortress, and talked quite a lot throughout the day. Around 7 PM, we took the bus back to Chania. Olivia then showed us one of her favorite viewpoints, from where you could enjoy a fantastic view over the harbor and the lighthouse. Before that, we picked up some cocktails to-go and watched the sunset. The weather in Chania also didn't seem to be as bad as in Rethymno.

Tomorrow we also have another day off and want to go hiking in the Samaria Gorge.
