Kyoto the First

After arriving in Kyoto, we strolled to the hotel with our luggage and found the weather warmer than expected at 27 degrees. We were a bit sweaty and welcomed the air-conditioned lobby. We had to wait a little until our room was cleaned. Then we would have received a stylish room with a bathtub.

We were still exhausted from the journey and rested for a while. In the evening, we went out to find something to eat and found a place that had a lot of tofu and egg. It was very delicious and everyone was very friendly. While paying, the waiter took off with my credit card. That was quite an uneasy feeling.

The next day, we were well-fueled by the great hotel breakfast with the stylish subway seating made of velvet. We went to the sports shrine, where we gained our first experiences with the ritual for requesting our wishes. First, pour water over the left hand at the fountain, then the right hand, donate 200 yen, bow twice, and then clap twice. After picking up a few souvenir good luck charms, we strengthened ourselves in a burger shop. Martin had one with egg and the bun made of cooked rice.

Then we went to the former Imperial Palace, which is very expansive with a beautiful park. Unfortunately, visiting the rooms was not possible for tourists.
