Trip of the Crasy Ladies to Wyk

I forgot to mention yesterday that there are fabulous Pentecost parades here. Tractors drive through the village with a wagon, loud music, and many young people. They wave, drink, and enjoy the community. It was fun.

This morning we had breakfast together again, and when I asked if anyone wanted another toast, I was met with a duet singing. 'Another toast, another egg, another coffee....' the rest was drowned out by laughter once again.

We then hit the road, and several times we joked that one or the other could be placed on the carry-on bench. A new ritual was found, just like Gisela's saying that she wants to tell Mama everything. We treat each other quite roughly, but it's nice that nothing is meant badly and that no one takes offense.

In Wyk, we needed new cigarettes, but the shops were open despite the holiday. So we stormed into Edeka. Since they asked us to wear masks, I gave Gisela an FFP2 mask and she protested, saying, 'No, I don't want to wear the mask.' Of course, she ended up on the carry-on bench again. We stocked up on groceries as we mainly wanted to cater for ourselves. Of course, we also bought some snacks and the necessary cigarettes. Local Eisbärwein was also included.

We continued into town and strolled along the promenade. We sat down for a coffee with a view of the sea. In the morning, the sky was still crying, but that soon passed and the sun shone brightly from a blue sky. Gisela had put on her wind and weather jacket and unexpectedly said, 'The jacket used to be looser.' When we laughed about it, she dryly remarked, 'I haven't washed it yet, but I wore it in the rain.' We laughed so hard and I noted that it might have been the little creatures that sew the clothes tighter. When Gabi finally caught her breath, she blurted out, 'They must have put something in our coffee.' Even the guests at the neighboring tables looked at us, but it was wonderful.

Gabi and I then went for a stroll in the passage and left poor Gisela all alone 'in the freezing shade' (as she later said). On the way back together, we visited a cute little shop with a variety of decorative items. We also passed by a fish cart, but here a shrimp sandwich would cost even 10 euros. We politely declined.

On the way back, we stopped at our cafe from the previous day and treated ourselves to an ice cream. Then we lugged the groceries, including drinks, upstairs, made some coffee, and our daily reading session started on our terrace in the sunshine. As it started to cloud over, we moved to the couch, later ate our frozen pizza, and drank the Eisbärwein, which was really good. The day was coming to an end and we would go to sleep in the evening, taking the lightness of our days into our dreams.
