Breakfast at the hotel is good, so we were able to set off for our first exploration today feeling fresh and energized. Since we are staying right next to the 'Royal Jersey Golf Club', we had to lower our heads on the way to the beach (we didn’t bring any helmets).
Warning: Flying golf balls.⛳️🏌♀️
After we survived this first hurdle without getting hit, we hiked through the bay to Gorey at low tide, always with the imposing Mont Orgueil Castle in our sights.
But the view downwards was also rewarding.
A multitude of beautiful shells 🤩
Upon arriving at the small harbor, we grabbed some drinks at the Seahorse Café before heading to the next bay, always accompanied by fantastic coastal scenery.
The endpoint was the Driftwood Beach Café. Delicious seafood all local. They had crab tacos and scallops...😋
We then took the bus back to Gorey. The bay we walked through in the morning was now only passable by swimming. The tides are truly surprising...
So we walked along the dry path above. Plus a delicious Jersey soft serve in hand (the milk from Jersey cows makes the difference).
After a stop at the hotel, we took the bus to Saint Helier for dinner. This time we ended up at The Square, also tasty.
Returning by bus and taking a walk on the beach concluded our first full day here.
Everything is relaxed, the landscape is stunning, and there are few tourists. Perfect getaway.🥳
Stay tuned!
