In the morning, we still explore a travel tip and visit a truly impressive, deep black volcanic beach under genuine Nordic wind conditions. We also consider a horseback riding tour, but most of us lack the motivation to hop along the icy beach in the freezing wind. Instead, we prefer to have a few waffles at Vikinger-Kaffee and continue to the last hot pot. :-( We will really miss that or introduce it in Central Europe. If anyone knows of a hot spring, please let us know. Finally, the last drive in Iceland takes us via the Öxipass as an alternative to the N1. The route is nothing special for Alpine drivers, but it is off-road :-) Hold on, what's that? A road service vehicle has actually watered the ENTIRE PASS in front of our eyes to reduce dust?! It's like drying the floor in a swimming pool ... ;-) In the dreamy late afternoon light, a bit of nostalgia sets in for the upcoming departure – once again, we counter it with a large portion of lamb and Brennivin. Our last "accommodation" is a shabby parking lot at the port where we can hardly (and don't want to) set up the tent, but that doesn't matter anymore – we convert the bus into a sleep cinema and yawn ourselves to sleep with Game of Thrones.
