Tsitsikamma National Park
Yesterday we decided not to do any hiking in Tsitsikamma Park. We wanted to take it easy. First, we drove to Nature's Valley and took a little walk on the beach. Then we...

Today we left Storms River. Our next accommodation is in Knysna. But before that, we went to Plettenberg Bay. There we visited the Robberg Nature Reserve.
You can take a walk there and observe animals. Especially whales, sharks, dolphins and seals. There were 3 trails listed on an information board. Since we arrived very early, we chose the 9.2 km 'walk'. With plenty of water and snacks in our backpack, we started.
Right from the beginning, the view of the ocean was once again gigantic. The surf was fascinating and we could sometimes spot a spray from a whale. The path was also very pleasant and our mood couldn't have been better.
Then came a wooden bridge passage and I was so amazed by the view of the sea. A gigantic cliff was in front of us and you could see the sea on the right and left. It looked amazing. I still had my eyes on the turquoise water and kept walking. Since I wasn't looking at the ground, I suddenly slipped between the wooden path and the railing. The railing caught me with full force. My heart sank. I won't even mention all the things that hurt me now. I had to collect myself and take a deep breath. In that moment, Daniela and I agreed that if we walk, we will only pay attention to the path. If we want to admire nature, we will stop. Because if there hadn't been a railing for me, I don't know if I would still be typing here. Because there wasn't always a railing.
We continued and suddenly there was a strong smell. Oh, it must be seal poop and it was. There were so many seals lying on the rock ledges below us and despite the strong surf, they jumped into the waves or shot out of the waves. It looked amazing.
Our walk gradually turned into the nightmare hike to the waterfall in Tsitsikamma Park. It went over rocks, cliffs, etc.! We had to laugh, Daniela said, how stoned do they have to be here to come up with such paths for tourists. It was unbelievable, but the view was always gigantic and it made up for the hardships. The path led all the way down to the rocks where the surf broke. Here we could observe the seals in the water even better. We didn't want to continue, the sight was so cute. But I checked our distance and we had only completed 4.0 km out of the 9.5 km. Well then, we climbed, crawled or slid further along the rocks. It was crazy. But I actually coped with the hike really well, except for my fall on the wooden bridge.
When we finally stood at the parking lot in the afternoon, we were really proud of ourselves and high-fived each other. As a reward, we had a huge vanilla ice cream milkshake.
From the hike, we continued to a viewpoint where you can also observe whales well. We sat down on a bench there and stared at the sea. We saw some sprays, but nothing gigantic. The Great White Shark was also not visible. We had a delicious meal at a beach restaurant and then we walked along the beach. There were signs indicating when the Great White Shark is active and there is a first aid kit for shark attacks! Daniela is not allowed to ask me to go swimming with her for the rest of the vacation!!! Only in the pool!!!!!
Best regards from the two of us
