I only know my family history from my mother; unfortunately, I never got to know my father.

My mother was a Bentheimer Landschaf and worked for a shepherd. His animals frequently traveled for the National People's Army in the border area of Thuringia, so nothing would grow and thrive in the death strip.

My father was a Schwarzes Bergschaf and belonged to an American soldier (Jerome Blackhat), who served in the 11th Blackhorse Regiment of the US Army. This unit was stationed in Rasdorf and occupied the Observation Station Point Alpha during the Cold War.

During a work assignment of my mother, the following situation occurred: she was out in the area around Geisa with her fellow sheep. While everyone was passionately plucking the lush herbs and leaves from the meadow, my mother was attacked by a sheepdog. This dog was kept on a chain in the border strip, the other end of which was attached to a long guiding wire that extended the movement area to the sheep herd. The dog lunged and caught my mother with its incisors on her right hind leg.

Escape fence and sheepdog

My mother was able to escape, slightly injured, to the fence near the observation tower. There she met my father for the first time, who was grazing by the fence. It must have been love at first sight. In any case, they regularly met at the same spot. The result is me. Jerome Blackhat took my father to America when his service time in Germany ended. It’s a shame I could never meet him.

In any case, I look like a Rhönschaf, have my father's head and the rest from my mother, and was also born in the Rhön.

I am a Rhönschaf!!!!
