Hiya,

so, we finally arrived on Lewis and Harris.

Today was quite exhausting. The alarm went off at 04:25 AM... get up, go to the bathroom, brush teeth, get dressed, and off we went towards Ullapool. From there, the ferry took us to the island.

Mrs. Google says 3 hours and 56 minutes, and even though it was a very beautiful trip with really nice weather, we were glad to have landed in Ullapool.

Ullapool Harbor is truly worth seeing, and after stretching our legs a bit, we crashed into a café and got our caffeine levels back to normal. After that, I acquired some real Scottish biscuits and had breakfast on the quay... :o)))) Mr. Fü didn't want anything... tough luck.

Then we finally got to board the ferry. It left the harbor at 11:30 AM, and for the next 2 hours and 40 minutes, we drifted through the Atlantic with beautiful weather and a calm sea. A highlight was when the sun suddenly had a 'halo effect'. No idea how that happens here, as (according to Mrs. Google, and she must know) it has something to do with light refraction and reflection of sunlight on ice crystals, cirrus clouds, and high altitude. Anyway, it was impressive... very impressive.

After docking in Stornoway, we went straight to our accommodation.... to Lew Castle. Yes, we are staying in a castle :o))) Here we have an apartment, and it is really very, very pretty.

What we will do tomorrow will probably be decided at breakfast. But you can be excited :o)
