Queen's stage

We traveled at an average speed of 13.5 km/h over the 83 km and 2900m HD. This says everything about the toughness of the stage. It either went up or down on very narrow streets.

It was raining a little at the start of the Col de Sampeyre. By the pass after 1350 HD the rain stopped and we enjoyed the view of the Col Agnel. The surface on the descent was partly ok and sometimes it was like the Arenberg forest near Paris-Roubaix.

However, the next climb was even worse. Ramps up to 20% and a worse road. With a stop at the only open restaurant, we managed the 1400m HD to the Esischie. From there it was only about 100m HD to the Fauniera. Luckily the subsequent descent to Demonte was a little better. The road was also narrow but the surface was mostly ok.
