Tag 6: Schevingen - Middelburg
Accident, cancellation? First things first. Start as always, cold, wet, and windy. It's something you have to see. But then really beautiful dunes and sheep, sheep, and more...

What an adventurous day and trip
Who knows the PC game “In a Land Before Time”? There was a mini-game where you had to cross the shore and crocodiles or something came from the side. That’s roughly how it felt when I had to turn right onto the highway/federal road today and suddenly felt a wave of fright. It was tough.
But let’s take it step by step; first, believe it or not, I needed sun cream for the first and last time. Applied it and off I went.
Then there was the sightseeing tour through Middelburg, which was very beautiful.
Next came the highway story and then the longest industrial area in Europe, it felt like. And I was slightly tricked. As can be seen in the pictures, I was repeatedly brought to a waiting position by moving bridges. I waited until I saw another open bridge on the other side (left). When I crossed that, I found myself at the next red light.
When I suddenly found myself in Belgium, things got wild. Everyone overtook me, some going over 50 km/h. That’s the next-level stuff in Belgium, an E-racing bike hybrid. Fast as a car, with license plates, but with pedals. Maybe they just wanted to get out of the industrial area quickly.
Then came Antwerp, and it really felt like a classic big city. First, impressive buildings, especially the train station, and then the slums. In between, all the multicultural neighborhoods you can think of.
Tomorrow, unusually, there will only be a tailwind, so I’ll be at the hotel by 10 👍 Then I’ll know how most Belgians feel.
There are also rumors that the trucks are still standing at the bridge. Missing person notices have already been issued. I wish them a lot of standing power.
