Day 5: The Hague - Scheveningen

Evening,

the tour was short, but still full of highlights.

Highlight 1: Rain ☔️ A must-see occurrence.

Highlight 2: Horse parade 🐎 A must-see event. Especially when the planned tour isn't possible at all because everything is blocked and more police are deployed than on May 1st. I was practically being chased. But what did I do to the horses? Except for that one time in the pasture when I gave them a parsnip instead of a carrot. Was that it? No, I googled and it was… hold on to your hats… a dress rehearsal for the Prince's Guard/speech on Tuesday. What an effort.

Highlight 3: Scheveningen. A must-see place. Not quite like Sylt or So, but with good food options, street performers, deck chairs, a Ferris wheel, seagulls, mammoths, and a cool pier. Okay, one thing was 🤥. There were no deck chairs, it rained.

In the end, I got soaking wet again because I was using my umbrella to protect my ice cream from seagull attacks. Not to be confused with lion attacks, which only occur in Belgium. That’s where I'll be starting Tuesday.
