Trip to the Mountains and Home Museum

Yesterday, we took a trip to the highest mountain in Oman. Jebel Shams stands at 3,006 m high.

We first traveled from Nizwa to the village of Misfah, which is said to be one of the most beautiful villages. We only viewed it from above. After that, we continued on to Jebel Shams, also known as the Mountain of the Sun. The plateau is right above a massive gorge, which is referred to as the 'Grand Canyon' of Oman. You can only drive there with a four-wheel drive vehicle, which we of course have, allowing us to safely drive up and back down the rough road.

We spent the evening back in Nizwa.

In the morning, we continued towards Salalah. The route passes by the Oman Home Museum. It's an impressive building with a great exhibition about the history of Oman up to the present day.
