12.05.2025 | Vatican View, Potato Frustration & Sweet Wine Fail 🥔
While showering, Lara realizes that she has burned her head – from now on, a cap is a must. On the way to breakfast, we get on the wrong train and take a wrong turn – typical....

Morning outfit crisis: In the Vatican, cutouts are unwelcome – but no one mentioned anything about the back cutout. 👀
This time breakfast is 'to go' – of course, again it’s Ballerina cappuccina, salamina, and crossaintina.
After a brief stop due to a group of pilgrims, we enter the Vatican Museums. The Sistine Chapel is open – lucky us!
However, we had envisioned it differently. After ten minutes, we are already overstimulated. The sculptures and ceilings are impressive but overwhelming. No one really knew who was depicted there - but the Romans had toned muscles, or was it a Greek? The sacred mood is absent, especially due to the noise.
Two hours later, we leave the museum and enjoy a silent Iced Cappuccino at the next café.
Lara finally buys a magnet – without Pimelo. After that, we have what is surely the best ice cream of the trip (without stains!).
We also visit a recommended church – there is definitely too much incense there.
Back in the rain (thankfully we have the umbrella) to the Airbnb. The suitcases are packed quickly.
For dinner, we head back to Trastevere. At the first restaurant, we get up again – we want pizza, not Pinsa.
At La Canonica, we finally get pizza – and a great atmosphere.
Next to us is a couple, and the woman provides Lara with 'Bad Energy'. She is wearing a transparent dress without a bra, while we are freezing with two jackets. She looks like an Instagram filter – we call her the 'Crying Woman'.
At home, we meet two Indians at the dining table who immediately ask us about our day – even though we just met them.
When taking off her shoes, Lara decides against elegance and throws herself backward to the floor – first against the wall, then on the ground. We are laughing tears.
