'Welcome to winter wonderland' would probably be the more suitable title here 😂 For the first time on our trip, the weather didn't cooperate for two days. During the short, wonderful detour to the sandstone caves on the way to Bryce Canyon, the weather was still great, but the next morning the sky looked anything but friendly. Dark clouds mixed with a few last rays of sunshine didn't promise anything good. Still, we were determined to do the Rim Trail and took the shuttle bus into the park. It was quite windy, but the views were absolutely spectacular 🤩 A little later it started to hail briefly, and in the distance, we could see lightning and hear thunder 🙈 Nevertheless, we walked - much to the boys' displeasure - the trail all the way to the end. (After all, we're not made of sugar, right? 😉) The rock formations in Bryce Canyon are truly unique and spectacular - even almost without sunshine - beautiful! 😃

Later in the afternoon, we took a trip to the hotel next to our campsite. There, we could use the indoor pool (and hot tub) for free - just what we needed because it started to rain in the evening ☔️

And when we woke up in the morning (after a really, really) cold night, everything was simply white 🙈 It had snowed! So, we already experienced every imaginable weather on this trip: From hot 30 degrees to 0 degrees - everything in between 😂 Luckily, we're well-equipped with clothing (although Finn unfortunately managed to leave his jacket somewhere yesterday... we'll need to find a replacement 🙈)

Then we drove on (with pouring rain again - at least no more snow) towards Zion Canyon. When we arrived, fortunately, the rain had eased, and we managed to do two hikes after all (even without protest from the young lads! 🥳) The Zion Canyon is also scenically spectacular with its red, high rock walls, but so far it has impressed us the least ('gorges' we have at home too, just not in red 😉) The highlight for the boys was the many 'squirrels' on the way that were almost tame. Officially, you're not allowed to feed them (100 dollar fine), but it seems to happen all the time, judging by their behavior... 😉

Tomorrow after a detour to the Valley of Fire, we're heading to Las Vegas 🤩 (There it is supposed to be 36 degrees - we'll definitely need the air conditioning from the camper 😉)
