Lønstrup

On Saturday, we continued on to Lønstrup. The journey was supposed to take only four and a half hours, but in the last five minutes, we had a flat tire! Dad ran over a rock - that caused the flat. We had to call the roadside assistance, which reached us about an hour later. The car was towed, and we sat in the front with the driver. In the garage, we received a spare tire that we exchanged for a proper one on Monday. We arrived at our destination two hours later than originally planned.

Our house is located among other summer homes with a wonderful view. It has three bedrooms and an idyllic garden that grows around the whole house. There is even a garage and a small children's room in an outbuilding. If you want to get a closer look at the sea or even swim, you can do so very well at the coast. Here, there are mainly pebble and sandy beaches. Once, when I went for a walk there with the dog, I even saw two seals! That was an amazing experience!

Here in Lønstrup, there are many things to see and discover. We visited a lighthouse that stands on the largest sand dune in Denmark (Rubjerg Knude). That day was quite warm, and you couldn't drive directly there, so we had to hike a good distance to reach the lighthouse. Trudging through the hot sand was very exhausting! Nevertheless, it was worth it because the view was breathtakingly beautiful. In the evening, we were all very exhausted and tired.

On Wednesday, we wanted to visit an oceanarium. There live a variety of fish and even small sharks! Additionally, you can view three whale skeletons there. The largest one belongs to a fin whale. Moreover, we collected stamps at various stations with a pass. The highlight of this trip for me was the two feedings of the fish and the seals. During the fish feeding, a diver swam around in the fish tank and was surrounded by the fish. For lunch, we ate fries. We couldn't have eaten anything else anyway, as everything always had fish or meat. This is not only the case there; there are hardly any vegetarian dishes anywhere, which makes it difficult for us because we are all vegetarians (except for Dad).

Another excursion took us to Skagen. There, the North Sea and the Baltic Sea meet at a peninsula. We were taken from the parking lot to the sea by a tractor with a trailer called the 'Sandwurm', where we walked on foot to the peninsula. The beach area became thinner and thinner (on one side was the North Sea, on the other the Baltic Sea) until the seas met. It looked funny when the waves crashed into each other from two different directions. The water was so shallow that we could walk far out into the sea.

Tomorrow we will say goodbye to Lønstrup. Our next stop is Asnæs on the island of Zealand. We will get there by ferry. We are already looking forward to it.
