In the morning, we drove to the city center to visit some sights and stroll around. First, we visited the White Cathedral, which is easily visible from afar. It is quite imposing from the outside but rather plain on the inside compared to other churches. Then, we walked to the market hall and had lunch. It is very invitingly furnished and offers many specialties. Helsinki does not have a real city center or shopping street. There are many small shops and restaurants on the streets leading away from the harbor. Phil also got his Scandinavian beard trimmed, and then we continued to the Rock Church. Highly recommended. We were always lucky to find a parking space nearby, so we could take a nice walk in a park and then take the ferry to Tallinn.
A really great crossing. The 2.5 hours passed by quickly. The ferry had a children's playground and 5 restaurants.
So we arrived in Tallinn and parked at the marina right next to the former prison (one of Tallinn's sights). We ended the day with a lovely walk by the harbor.
