Unique in the world😱🥥

The day began magically with a breakfast right by the sea.😍🫖 After that, there was a bus ride of about 20 minutes along the coast of Praslin. 🚌 However, it turned out to be a nerve-wracking rollercoaster ride: the roads were bumpy & steep, while the bus driver was really pushing the gas. Before the tight turns (where only one vehicle could fit), he simply honked loudly, hoping to keep the way clear.😱🫣 We were certainly relieved when we reached Fond Ferdinand: a very special national park. Only in the national parks on Praslin and the turtle island Curieuse does the Coco de Mer palm (also known as the Seychelles palm) grow. Here are some facts that truly fascinated us:

• The nut of a female palm resembles a buttocks, while the nut of a male palm resembles the male genitalia.
• It takes 20-40 years for a palm to bloom for the first time. A single fruit takes several years to ripen on the tree.
• The fan-shaped leaves of the palm can be 5 to 10 meters long and over 3 meters wide. A coconut can weigh up to 35 kg.

Simply wow, right?🌴😱 Even more exciting was wandering through a whole forest full of these special palms and marveling at everything. After about 1.5 hours of strenuous stair climbing, we reached a magnificent viewpoint overlooking the Seychelles.🏝️ For the descent, we then needed about another hour before we gave ourselves another rollercoaster ride back to the hotel (It's hard to believe, but the bus driver drove even faster.😱)
