Today at 2 pm (strictly timed according to the tides) the seal safari to the sandbank Koresand takes place. The tractor bus drives through the Wadden Sea at low tide to the sand desert off the island of Mandø.
The further you venture onto it, the more you believe you are truly in the eternal vastness. We make a stop and are allowed to stretch our legs (leaving the group is strictly forbidden, as the risk of not being able to find the mainland is too great) and behold, seals about 100m away from us.
Katrin, our very observant guide, allows us to observe the animals through a telescope, unfortunately Samuel tries but without success...one-eyed looking through is not possible yet.
At the second stop, we are allowed to search for Mr. Crabs and Co in the shallow water, Felix finds a bluish shimmering, quite large jellyfish.
After three hours, the very impressive adventure comes to an end and at around 5 pm we pack our things into the motorhome and head back towards the mainland as the water level continues to rise.
After a short stop for shopping, we arrive in the evening at the campsite in Vejers, which is quite crowded, but we get a spot.
