When you wake up and check the weather app and it says: 29°C, feels like 38°C, you know what to expect. It’s still humid, which means you’ll sweat even without doing anything. Our app had also predicted rain for today - thankfully, it didn't happen!

With Ernest, a young man from Singapore, we explored the city. Just as the population is a mix of Chinese, Malays, Indians, Indonesians,... so is the architecture! We visited a large Buddhist temple and an Indian temple, both very close to our hotel. At the latter, it was: Shoes off! Everything is very well-kept and clean. The Buddhist temple includes a museum and a viewing platform. The food markets offer a variety that is impossible to taste all at once. We also had our later lunch in a food market! Simply delicious! Our tour guide provided us with great advice! He made sure we went into air-conditioned rooms frequently, whether it was a gallery, museum, or old parliament hall. The shopping centers offer more than just what the name implies; in one, we even found climbing walls integrated over several floors. There was also a running track and a bike path that went through. There is a lot of greenery, and many facades have this integrated as well. Urban development is not yet complete, and more projects are planned. Space in the city is being created, for example, through land reclamation in the sea. We can only marvel at the extravagant architecture that has emerged here in the last 30 years and how beautifully the old has been restored!
