Worth seeing

China

China is highly interesting. There are MANY Chinese, very many, and everywhere. They are friendly, but mostly speak NO English, which is surprising for a global power. However, when there is a chance for communication, they are eager to learn and open-minded.
There are strikingly many pretty young girls and boys, graceful, slim, wiry.
And they take photos of each other at tourist hotspots, tirelessly, in all poses. What annoys us Europeans at other destinations is simply part of the experience here.
Despite their friendliness, they push and shove like champions; every gap is exploited. Personal space? Unknown word. This is true in crowds as well as in traffic.
The traffic is wild! Everything drives chaotically, of course. What Germany is desperately trying to achieve is a reality here: Mostly electric vehicles. That electric cars are quiet and scooters are soundLESS is eerie! Only trucks and buses can be heard. If we are still used to orienting ourselves acoustically in traffic, forget it here.

China is surprisingly clean nowadays, both the air (practically no emissions, even the diesel trucks and buses are clean) and the streets, which have no dirt or litter, not even at street kitchens.
Due to the pervasive surveillance, there is practically no street crime. Pickpocketing, burglaries, and assaults are unknown.

China views its 3,000 (5,000) years of history, during which it has only been without global power status for just under 200 years. Its respective leaders have crystal-clear visions of where they want to lead their country. They pursue these goals resolutely, and resistance is futile.
My prediction: China will outpace the USA. The trade deficit with Europe will steadily rise, as China is practically no longer dependent on anything external.
A visit on-site is definitely worth it to get a personal impression. It is a highly interesting travel destination with the limitations of a somewhat blocked internet and frequent queuing at passport controls. And contrary to other posts, we were able to pay cash everywhere without any problems.
