Beach Day
The next day, I wait out the morning shower and then meet the first traveler of the upcoming weeks - Göki. We head to Bondi Beach and walk along the coastal path to Coogee...

Australia is complicated, at least when it comes to mobile networks. That’s why I’m allowed to buy a new phone for Christmas, but it’s annoying because it takes a whole day, and I also have to set it up anew. (Spoiler: unfortunately, the Wi-Fi at my hostel has been down this whole time, so over the next few days, every time I have a connection, I can restore a bit, so that after 3 days I don’t have to walk around with 2 phones anymore. It’s crazy how helpless someone feels these days without an internet-capable phone...) The positive side: The many Australians I’m in contact with are all incredibly friendly. An employee from a mobile provider advises me for about 45 minutes (and checks my phones during that time), only to eventually say I should shop elsewhere because there are special offers everywhere today on the so-called 'Boxing Day' (Dec 26)...
At least in the evening, I manage to take a tour towards the sunset and see the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge for the first time at sunset, all lit up at night. I’m impressed by how big, crowded, and loud everything is here. At the same time, there is an unbelievably beautiful Botanical Garden. It’s actually really nice here 😊
