Our group trip officially starts at 5 PM, but we are all already here or have landed by now. Today, I will be moving from my hostel to our hotel and meeting the others. We will...

One has to unfortunately get used to the fact that everything is a bit slower on group trips than one might prefer, because Person A still needs to go to the bathroom, Person B wants a coffee (that’s me!), Person C has a different opinion about the way, and Person D gets lost or is not in the mood for a walk. Additionally, the journey by train and bus takes over 2.5 hours (one way) with several transfers because there is currently construction on the railway line.
Our trip to the Blue Mountains is therefore overall quite nice, but sadly a bit bumpy as well and we see far less than I would have hoped because we do not walk the entire hiking trail and thus never really get away from the crowds at the main viewpoints, and there is overall too little time on site. Nonetheless, the landscape is stunning. The Blue Mountains are sandstone formations with huge eucalyptus forests that create a blue shimmer due to their color and the aromatic oils they release. There is a rock formation called 'Three Sisters' – you can see why in the pictures. The 'Honeymoon Bridge' that leads to one of the rock formations is unfortunately closed (like several other sections of the trail), but I still find a good spot to finally cuddle with my sheep 🥰
