At 7:00 in the morning we started, unfortunately it wasn't such a nice night... as often in the hostels there are two typical phenomena... snoring and pilgrims who start packing and rustling at 5:00... so the sleep was quite short...
But today we are going on the penultimate stage with my friends from Austria, actually we wanted to stay in a very cool hostel where you can still stay overnight in a classical way against a donation. Besides, the owner of the house cooks for his guests. But on Fridays he is closed, he also deserves to have a day off... so we decided to stay in a hostel which is mentioned in the book and also has advertising every 500m. At that time we could not anticipate what would happen...
Since we used the reservation option for this accommodation (which is sometimes recommended with few beds), we could take our time and let the way have a strong impact on us... so we also had a picnic twice on the way.
This time it was again a beautiful mixture of mountain views, sea views and walking directly along the coast. For a change, there were hardly any "concrete paths" this time. Instead, the terrain was sometimes like in the mountains...
We had to cross tracks and climb over a lot of fences to get to the cliff coast... but it was worth it...
There were beautiful views... on the way we passed so-called bufones, but at that moment the water level was not right to see water fountains...
It was also very cool to have something to balance on... always fun to do...
When we arrived at the accommodation Casa Flora, we quickly realized that it's only about business here!!! They tried very hard to sell us more, a loveless dinner, a loveless breakfast... as a pilgrim you didn't feel welcome at all... constantly being stared at angrily... everywhere there were various signs with "don't do this, don't do that"... this costs extra and that too... it was also outrageous with washing clothes. Normally you take it quickly with you into the shower or have other options... here everything was forbidden or you have to pay 3€ if you wash under the shower. Washing clothes costs so much there... and that per person... normally you share a machine with others and share the cost, here you get ripped off!!!
Overall, I have the feeling on the coastal route (I'm on my way from Santander) that pilgrims are not always really welcome...
To end this Friday the 13th in a relaxed way, we had a little party with wine, music and improvised dinner...
cheers...
