Day 2 New York December 31
In the morning, we got up early. We went to the 7eleven (supermarket) where the door was kindly held open by a few homeless people. We then walked through a park by the old town...

The journey started with a delay. At 2:00 AM a message that we would leave at 10:00 instead of 8:55. It got even later due to a rather hefty woman who got stuck on the plane..... the trip went smoothly. Nice weather and a bit of turbulence. Enjoyed watching movies, sleeping, and eating chicken stew with tiramisu for dessert. Then you're in America and quickly think about the taxi and the hotel. The customs in New York had a different idea about that. Over an hour, almost two in line, all because they wanted our fingerprints. Nils's weren't interesting enough. We had already received three calls from the driver who was supposed to take us to the hotel, and Mohammed made it. What a chaos in the traffic. We took many beautiful photos on the way to the hotel located in Lower Manhattan right next to the 9/11 memorial, where the Anne Frank tree is also situated. Quickly to the room and then somewhere to eat. We did that at Bils Burger right next to the hotel. Delicious and truly American. TVs were on everywhere, thick glasses of cola, music blaring, and XXL trays with an abundance of burgers zoomed past us. Very friendly service and the food was quickly on the table. After eating, we quickly bought milk at a store and visited the 9/11 monument. It leaves you speechless.... We had been awake since 4:00 and it was now 1:00 AM Dutch time, so it was definitely time for us to go to sleep.
