Day 6: St Augustine

After a long day at the Hollywood studios, we were back at breakfast by 8:00 AM. Then we took the back roads to St Augustine. On the way, we passed by Silver Springs. Once we arrived, we asked a woman where the best place to walk was. She pointed us towards Eaton Creek, and that's where we went. On the way there, we also encountered the first signs warning of crossing bears! We did not expect that here. By then, it was past noon and pleasantly warm. We parked the car and decided to head north. We quickly lost track of our route. We decided to follow the lake we wanted to reach, but we wouldn't be able to see it. It was nice to escape the hustle and bustle of New York and Orlando. Once back at the car, we drove on to St Augustine; speaking of hustle and bustle, not the trip but the town itself was incredibly busy. A beautiful old town with historic houses and rich history. After a walk through the old city center and the old fort, we went to a restaurant on the island near the lighthouse. It was recommended in the travel guide. We had a nice meal there and then headed back to look from the bridge at all the illuminated houses by the water, a beautiful sight.
