Getting up early was necessary due to the predicted temperatures and the planned tour through the Viros Gorge. Thus, we set off at 9 am.

Thank goodness the Viros riverbed turned out to be a harmless gravel bed with a few medium-sized stones that are easy to walk on.

Obstacle Course Viros Gorge

The gorge is impressive with its red-brown rock walls and the large caves that can be found in the steep cliffs. Thankfully, the gorge was still in the shade early in the morning, otherwise, it would have felt like a furnace.

Halfway through, we made a slight detour to Lykaki Monastery, which unfortunately was closed, so we couldn't view the beautiful frescoes.

Lykaki Monastery

Since we had set out early, we reached our motorhome again around 1 pm, before the heat and the usual afternoon rain.

Descent

With a short stop at the local supermarket, we headed to our next destination in Mavrovouni, where we found a fantastic parking spot (HTTPS://park4night.com/de/place/34623) right in the olive grove.

Camping Spot under Olive Trees

Here we will probably spend the next 2 days.

The water was so inviting that we went for another swim.
