Musk Ox (Musk Ox) Norway Day 10

After yesterday's reindeer experience, we aimed for the Musk Ox (Musk Ox) today, as they are supposed to be found here in Dovrefjell.

Interesting facts: Musk Oxen are not cattle. These even-toed ungulates belong to the goat family. They live in herds of five to 15 animals.

First, we went to the viewpoint Snøhetta, from which one might see reindeer and Musk Oxen, but the binoculars spotted neither. We decided to drive a little further into Dovrefjell and hike the Musk Ox Trail (12.9 km) to possibly find the Musk Oxen directly.

Just 2 km after the start, some wildlife photographers were on the hunt with their huge lenses, and lo and behold, there they were, the last European Musk Oxen. Incredible and impressive; we did not expect this at all. Our photos (phone) are not perfect, but they suffice for us.

On the further Musk Ox Trail, we didn't encounter any other animals apart from the freely roaming sheep everywhere.
