Sernikaki Itea Greece Day 10
A part of the group has taken on the task of hiking from Sernikaki

After packing plenty of olive oil (enough to supply half of Trier and the surrounding area 😂) and bidding farewell to our friends in Sernikaki, we set off towards the Peloponnese.
The first stop was the ferry from Andirrio to Patras, which was a recommendation from other blogs, as it is cheaper than the Rio-Andirrio bridge and has a bit of romance to it. The ferry ride is definitely recommendable.
We paid just 12€ for our Beppo and ourselves.
After crossing over, we drove to our chosen campsite IONION BLUE (https://park4night.com/de/lieu/68179/open/) and first took some time to refuel.
Finally, we found a real sandy beach, which we took advantage of for a long walk.
Unfortunately, this coastal area by the Ionian Sea is quite littered (we're likely to encounter this again).
To wrap up our walk, we enjoyed a refreshing swim in the sea. It was definitely not as cold as yesterday's mountain stream bath 🙂.
At 8:40 PM, the sunset was on the agenda,
before we had the obligatory family talk where we exchanged each other's news of the week with the girls.
