At the beginning was the great desire: to stand directly by the water. This has now almost become a habit. We often camp in places almost alone, with a view of the sea or a lake.
This is indeed a lasting experience in the Baltics: There are few people around between the Baltic Sea, rivers, and lakes, amidst nearly endless pine and birch forests.
Quiet - we have found you!
And when we do get into conversation at the campsites, the big questions of life always come up: Where do we come from and where are we going?😃
Wherever we/you have been, it was at least nice or great; it’s very rare to hear 'terrible' or 'never again'. Problems like flat tires or dead car batteries happen, but by the time we’re telling the stories, they’re already resolved. It’s wonderful to see that everyone still has plans and shows curiosity about this world.
By the way, we spend a lot of time poring over travel and camping guides to discuss and ultimately decide the next stops on our journey, as we travel without a 'big plan'.
In camping, the gender roles are also set: The men drive the more or less heavy vehicle to the campsite. Once arrived, the woman takes over and decides on the pitch. Yes, a clear division of roles can make life easier.😀
