Route: 87 kilometers, total: 3,824 kilometers | Elevation: 540, total elevation: 16,670 meters, distance from home: 127 kilometers (as the crow flies)

The weather forecast indicated that it would rain throughout the entire route. Fortunately, that was not the case. I was able to ride dry for over 40 kilometers. Only then did it start to rain just a little. In short, the rain was not really bothersome, especially since it was practically windless. One issue, however, is my phone, which is attached to the handlebars with the Komoot app and continuously shows me my position and the map. When a drop hits the screen, it has the same effect as if I was touching it with my finger. So, Komoot ends up doing things that are incorrect and confusing. Therefore, I put the phone in my pocket where it stays dry. I can still hear the instructions, however. Here, there's another problem. I can't make the volume loud enough on my helmet, so I can't hear anything when the traffic noise is too loud or the wind is blowing too strongly.

As a result, I missed a turn, and I only realized it after a while. A look at the map showed me that I needed to take the next street on the left to get back onto my route. But there was railway construction, and thus there was no way through. Now, I couldn't activate the 'Automatic Route Adjustment' function on Komoot, as that feature was not available today.

This made it difficult for me to find my friends Dieter and Barbara. The two of them were nearby in their motorhome, and we had arranged to meet in a small café. When I finally arrived, we took the time to chat a bit. During that time, I was also able to warm up and recharge a little. It was a wonderful encounter and a lovely testament of friendship. I sincerely thank you both for that. 🥰

On the way to them, another construction had already blocked my path, so I had to take a detour through country roads.

After this lovely interlude, we said our goodbyes; I had about 17 kilometers ahead of me while they continued on to Landshut in their motorhome, where I had also passed by 3 days ago.

For the first time, I rode a part of the Lake Constance cycling route near Bregenz. It's a pity that the weather didn't cooperate; a lake in sunlight is just so much more beautiful. It didn’t help that the Solar Queen had docked at the harbor in Bregenz. A beautiful ship, particularly remarkable in its construction. Years ago, I had the opportunity to participate in an event on it. That was a special experience.
