02 to Waghäusel
After a restful night, I got up early. This allowed me to depart around 8 a.m., just like yesterday. The sky was again clear and the sun had already risen. Nevertheless, or...

Today I only woke up at 7 a.m.; it seems I was a bit tired from yesterday's tour. Since my booking included breakfast, I went straight to the breakfast room. And lo and behold, I was the only guest. This had the advantage that I was allowed to take the rest with me. Thus, my lunch was already secured. The man at the reception was very friendly and helpful. If only everyone were like him!
At the end, he even took my starting photo; so, for once, it's not a selfie. It's nice that my Vogellisi can also be in it. After I gave him the room key, I could set off again.
The route changed at first, as I started in a different place than originally planned. Soon I was going through a beautiful forest, where I found a forest kindergarten in the middle – today, on Sunday, of course without children. The weather was cold again, and there was a brisk northeast wind, mostly from the front right. As soon as I left the forest, I felt it very strongly. Despite the sun, it remained cold, and I had no desire to reduce my layers of clothing.
The next larger town I passed through was Heidelberg. I have many fond memories of this wonderful city; on the one hand, the trip with the church choir from Wohlenschwil and on the other hand, a helicopter flight where I was allowed to photograph the city and its surroundings from the air.
Afterwards, the route led me through smaller towns and through nature, unfortunately often on or next to the road. In Darmstadt, it definitely became too cold and windy for me, so I looked for accommodation that was not too far away. Booking's suggestion was good, and soon I reached my destination.
Later I met the very nice owner, who showed me around and told me a lot. He also gave me a plate of spicy Thai salad. You can also find a photo of this and him in this blog.
