After a restful night, I got up early. This allowed me to depart around 8 a.m., just like yesterday. The sky was again clear and the sun had already risen. Nevertheless, or perhaps because of that, it was very cold, and I had to put on several layers again, which I was then able to take off one by one.
Until Strasbourg, about 10 kilometers away, I continued along the familiar canal. Strasbourg is a wonderful city. Since I have already cycled almost all the streets on previous tours, I bypassed the city today. This way, I discovered new parts of it, and it was also faster. I can highly recommend the city for a city trip.
After passing through a nature reserve, I crossed several villages. The ride was much more varied than yesterday, but also busier. However, I rarely had to ride on the main road; there was mostly a bike path alongside.
Later, I rode along the Rhine on very good bike paths with little traffic. Compared to yesterday, it was difficult to find nice rest areas today. Or rather, there were some, but not when I needed them. I then took my lunch break in a train shelter.
I chose accommodation in Philippsburg, but try as I might, I could not find the building with number 15, and even a local resident could not help me. So I had no choice but to continue, even though I had already pedaled more than enough kilometers.
Just a few kilometers further, I found what I was looking for. Though it was twice as expensive, breakfast was included. This explains my late report on one hand and the many kilometers covered on the other.
