Tag 75: Santa Teresa National Park

Published: 02.04.2017

Last night Tobias joined us at the hostel. We had a fun evening with beer, wine, and billiards, and we even had a room just for the three of us. This morning, the mood was a bit gloomy at breakfast after being greeted by cold rain and wind. Nevertheless, we decided to make the most of the day and do something. We took the bus to the top of the nearby Santa Teresa National Park to visit the Fortaleza de Santa Teresa and then hike back to the hostel through the park and along the beaches. The weather and our motivation improved. The historic Fortaleza was beautiful and interesting, and the park was huge. We kept walking through the forest until we reached one of the beaches, and then we kept going to the next beach. This went on for about 7 hours. When we arrived back in Punta del Diablo, it was already dark, our feet were tired, and our mood wasn't the best. We knew we still had to find that one supermarket, buy something to cook, and then walk about half an hour back to the hostel. After a warm shower, a delicious meal, and some wine, the mood improved again.
