Intro A summer vacation of firsts: our first summer camping trip within Germany (and even in our Swabian homeland), and also the first vacation at all in 13 years not as a family...

Of course, today everything was under the motto 'Mia's 14th Birthday'... That means: almost everything. Since my wife had sore muscles in her calves from the long walks on the two previous days and the morning walk had to be canceled because of that, I took the opportunity to put on my running shoes and pay a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle. One does not need to say much about Neuschwanstein Castle; the statement of a local I met on the viewpoint says it all: 'It's worth hiking up here every day for this view.' Nothing to add to that. Personally, I consider Neuschwanstein Castle, along with Lichtenstein Castle, the Reichstag, and the old town of Nuremberg, to be among the most beautiful German landmarks (architecturally).
Back at the campsite, for birthday breakfast, we had pancakes from probably the best pancake maker in the world (that’s me). Due to a lack of brown sugar, we had only 'normal' pancakes and no cinnamon roll pancakes 🤤🤤🤤, but what can you do? The birthday girl also received gifts, including such amazing gifts as an empty box that was supposed to contain a Ninabella hairbrush. Well, Amazon will handle it.
Otherwise, this day was mainly one thing: calorie-rich. Besides the pancakes with powdered sugar and maple syrup, there was also a homemade Omnia marble cake (if you don't know what an Omnia is, you haven't missed much), delicious ice cream sundaes in Lechbruck by the lake, and to top it off, a gigantic schnitzel with fries for Mia, a super cheap onion roast for VonVon, and cheese spaetzle for me.
Since nothing works without AI these days, the whole thing is also presented as a comic strip for the lazy readers.
