Forggensee 2026 - Infidelity

Following the motto "During the vacation is before the vacation" (author: Daniel Appenmaier, 2026), we're already intensively planning our 2027 vacation. For the first time in a long time, we won't be booking anything in advance for Pentecost, but will instead spontaneously see if and where camping options are available, depending on our mood and the weather. We haven't booked anything for our summer vacation yet either, but are considering spending another summer in the beautiful Ostallgäu region. The only question is: back to Brunnen on Lake Forggensee, or perhaps to Hopfen am See on Lake Hopfensee? Since we hadn't yet visited Lake Hopfensee, we decided to venture outside of Lake Forggensee today to check it out. Unfortunately, the weather gods had other ideas about testing the water quality, so we only managed a short stroll around the campground. Sadly, this didn't help us make a decision: both the campgrounds and the lakes themselves are absolutely fantastic. So, we'll probably just inquire at both and see what happens. Points that currently favor Camping Brunnen: Wooden pallets are provided free of charge as a base for the (awning) tent. Once you've experienced this luxury (especially on a rainy day), you won't want to be without it. Plus, being able to see the most beautiful castle in the world from the campsite or the lake is quite something.

Reading tips

Because of Darksiders and our extensive game sessions (besides Yahtzee and Binokel, we also regularly play Rummy, 6 Nimmt!, and Kuhhandel), I'm not reading as much as usual on vacation, but I've still managed to read two books so far ("The App" by Arno Strobel and "The House of Girls" by Andreas Winkelmann; both German thrillers, both highly recommended). Since there's unfortunately no new material from my "regular" authors Stephen King, Sam Feuerbach, and Thariot at the moment, I'm looking for some fresh reading material. So, if anyone has any recommendations for fantasy, horror, or science fiction, please share them. At this point, I'd like to give a shout-out to Sam Feuerbach and Thariot: both independent German authors, one (Sam) mainly writes fantasy, the other (Thariot) mainly thrillers and science fiction. Sam, in particular, always writes his stories with a great deal of wit and has a penchant for unusual characters. In general, I recommend all of his trilogies and series, although the Krosann Saga is a clear standout. For those who prefer (German) thrillers: Sam and Thariot have written the two trilogies Echtzeit and Instabil together... absolutely fantastic reading.
