'Happy Birthday to you, dear Mia, happy birthday to you.' Usually, Mia celebrates her birthday traditionally at a campsite in Italy or Croatia. This year, however, we were able to bring the birthday serenade exceptionallly at the dining table at home. After a quick breakfast, we set off towards Munich Airport at 7:30, where we were able to park our car in Airparks for the next 17 days about 2 hours later. At approximately 10:30, we went through security without much incident (Mia and I had small water bottles in our carry-ons, which of course were confiscated). Around 12:00, we boarded the plane (an Airbus A380), and at 12:45, our flight to California finally took off.
