Hello, dear ones!
We are still in the Kgalagadi National Park until the 23rd. This park belongs to South Africa, and you can tell. Everything is quite orderly and organized, and the roads in the park are pretty good gravel roads. Since the rainy season is longer than usual this year, we are having intermittent short rain showers – but that should change soon. The temperatures are quite pleasant: around 25 - 28° during the day, and about 20° at night. The car is running quite well.
Today, we witnessed a natural spectacle. We discovered not only a barn owl but also a huge Cape cobra, a yellow cobra species that feeds on eggs and young birds, on one of the massive communal nests of various bird species (yes, there is social housing for birds here!). This cobra has hit the jackpot with its habitat: a constantly set table!
Otherwise, we mostly saw gazelles and ostriches today - and in large herds!
The day after tomorrow, we will leave for Namibia very early. Writing the blog and especially taking photos will be easier then!
