After our stay on the island of Ko Phangan, we continued to the larger neighboring island of Ko Samui.
The island is much more touristy, which is mainly reflected in the heavy traffic and the variety of activities offered for tourists (jeep safaris, cobra shows, elephant tracking, ....).
Therefore, we decided to spend the days on Ko Samui in a small apartment in the mountains away from the hustle and bustle. We used the time to plan our travel route for the next few weeks and to let the experiences of the past few weeks sink in.
Of course, we were also on the scooter again and explored partly secluded, but beautiful places such as the Overlap Stone or the Na Mueang Waterfall.
Enjoying the numerous beaches was not neglected either. However, many of the beaches were very crowded and swimming was difficult due to the extremely high waves.
After much consideration, we have now decided to travel further south. Tomorrow we will take the ferry back to the mainland and then continue by night train to the city of Padang Besar. Here we will make our first border crossing on foot. Malaysia, the 2nd country on our world tour, is waiting for us. Once we have made it across the border, we will take a train to the Penang region where we will spend a few days in Georgetown.
We are curious if everything will work out!
Until then - A few warm rays of sunshine to Germany!
