Day 5: Fun at the Beach of Porto Santo

Today the sun is shining from the sky, we have our second (and last) relaxation day at the hotel by the beach.

We make good use of it to splash around in the sea.

The sea is crystal clear and turquoise blue. Simply a dream in turquoise - almost like a Caribbean beach - at least in appearance.

By afternoon, the large 'fresh' giant bathtub at 23 degrees turns into a wave pool.

Of course, it’s a lot of fun jumping in the waves and perfecting the bodysurfing 🤪

For dinner, we take a beach walk to the Pé na Água Bar-Restaurant, where we already enjoyed Caipirinha and Mojito at the Beach Bar.

We eat the delicious Bolo do Caco again (it actually tastes different everywhere) and my son and I have pasta.

We would have loved to have a Sangria on the way back, but the little Beach Bar has already closed today.

What a pity..

Well, maybe it's for the best. We still need to pack our bags as we're leaving the small island of Porto Santo towards Madeira tomorrow.

Currently, I still have no idea when that will be.

I had decided against taking the ferry for planning purposes, as a 2.5-hour ferry ride with possible waves seemed very unappealing. Moreover, it would have been difficult with luggage and taxi, and we will also need a rental car in Madeira.

In the end, however, the flight with BINTER was even cheaper than the ferry ride, which is why I chose the short island hop.

For weeks now, BINTER has been keeping me busy with emails changing the departure time. Originally, the plane was supposed to depart at 9:30, but over the last few weeks, the departure time has changed easily 10 times (8:30, 8:45, 9:30, back to 8:30, back to 9:30... and so on).

This morning, I received another email stating that the flight will now depart at 8:30....

However, we are confused because we have seen the BINTER landing 2 times in the morning from Funchal at 8:45 - so it couldn't possibly have flown to Funchal at 8:30...!?

According to Flightradar, it will depart tomorrow at 9:30... Hmm, but who should we believe now?

We bite the bullet, order a taxi for tomorrow at 7:15 to the hotel, and hope that the plane will take off at 8:30 too...🤷🏼‍♀️
