Tongariro National Park

Before the first snow fell, we visited Tongariro National Park repeatedly. We wanted to see the volcanoes again without rain and fog.

However, at Mount Ruapehu, the weather quickly turned bad after the cable car ride.

It was very cold when we ski downhill.

Best weather was forecasted for the next day, so we started our journey to Tongariro Crossing at 6 o'clock in the morning.

And it was great!

We could even see Mount Taranaki on the horizon.

Mount Ngauruhoe, the highest peak in the Tongariro Plateau.

And because it was so beautiful, we also took a look at the entire volcanic plateau from the air.
