The next beautiful high-pressure weather day, but already somewhat autumnal. In a few minutes, we will be in Capitol Reef NP, visit the Visitor Center, and then begin our hike to Hickman Bridge. Although it is not yet noon, the thermometer already showed over 30°C. The sandstone bridge was somewhat reminiscent of the Prebisch Gate. Then lunch in the park at a nice picnic spot. There is a desire to be in the accommodation early today to regain some strength, so off we go. Unfortunately, we can only check into our room in Hanksville from 3:00 PM. We discover the not too far Goblin Valley State Park and are very delighted by the beauty of the geological formations. Despite the high temperatures, we take a small round through the picturesque rocks. The solid sandstones lie on easily weathered clay material. It is only a matter of time before everything collapses. But enough of that. We quickly check into our room and go to eat in a hearty Western style. A fantastic day comes to an end.
