The day after visiting Bryce Canyon, it’s hard to get motivated, but one must realize that other types of landscapes are also worth seeing. We discovered Road No. 12. Highly recommended for anyone visiting this area. It winds through spectacular scenery, partly as a fantastic ridge road and crosses a 3000 m pass. We enjoyed the road until Escalante and then turned to Escalante State Park. At a beautiful lake, we parked our car and started our hike through the petrified wood. We saw countless pieces of petrified wood, on both sides of the path. In the most wonderful colors and sizes. Gigantic. After the hike, we had a great lunch in Escalante with a dancer. Then we continued to Boulder. Here, the Burr Trail branches off. A must for all off-road fans. The first 30 miles are paved. We had to turn back after about 20 miles for time reasons, but we really enjoyed driving in a canyon. Then we went over the 3000 m pass. The first raindrops started to fall. Autumn is announcing itself. After the descent, we quickly reached Torry and enjoyed the sunset.
