Monday was supposed to be a very relaxing day. We had our paradise campground right on the southern shore of Lake Mead and went for a short walk to the nearby marina around noon. Since I'm not very mobile with a wheelchair, we had to take a little detour, so the tour ended up being about 5 miles. But the weather was glorious. Until then....
There was a café at the marina and on the way there we could see hungry ducks, seagulls, and huge fish from the boat dock. I think they must have been the ubiquitous catfish here. Maybe not, I'm not an expert. But they were huge. Then we went to the terrace at the café, which turned out to be more of a typical bistro, and after a few minutes a breeze came up. We went inside, and inside, it was very funny because the walls were moving, as the whole thing was installed on floating pontoons, so it was overall stable, but movable within itself.
In the meantime, the mild breeze had turned into a quite notable storm, and lightning was flashing through the sky. And suddenly, just like Ute and Robert, we realized that we still had the blinds extended on the RVs. Oops.. unfortunately, that was indeed a mistake, as they got some minor injuries. A learning process, won't happen again, although we really couldn't have guessed that the wonderful desert weather would turn into such a storm. In the end, our holiday budget will have to suffer for it when we return the RVs.
In the evening, the annoyance about this matter was washed away with a barbecue and various glasses of wine and beer. Tomorrow we're going to Vegas.
