I have now arrived in Malawi. Our campsite was located on Singa Bay, directly on the shores of Lake Malawi. Lake Malawi is the 9th largest lake in the world. It's hard to believe that this body of water is actually a lake. The other side is not visible, in front of us is a sandy beach and the lake sounds like a sea. But a little taste confirmed that it is indeed fresh water and not salt water.
On the beach, fishermen were just bringing back their catch
and they were setting off again in their canoes to go fishing.
After the long drive we had today, a little exercise was good. I joined a guide and he took me to the nearby hills. One of the hills was home to the church of the Rastafarians. Rastafarian culture is very widespread in Malawi.
Finally, I was able to enjoy the view over the village "Hot Sand Bay".
