A few more things off the list

The weekend before the big day, my girlfriends whisked me away to a wonderful bachelorette party.
The adventure was announced by a mysterious package that arrived a week earlier, containing all sorts of clues—and, above all, glitter—that didn’t reveal much, but the candy didn’t go to waste.
I was also really happy about the custom-made album of songs from Rock Studio, a disco we used to go to a lot back then.
On Friday, we headed to Café Blue in Sendling for our get-together, which used to be a regular hangout for some of the girls.
Right after we arrived, I was dressed for the occasion in a great zip-up hoodie with Pusheen on the back.
After a hearty breakfast, we set off on a scavenger hunt through my youth. We’ve all known each other since school and have experienced quite a lot together over the years.
The first clue was a rock song they had composed themselves, which was truly catchy and was played several times over the weekend. The lyrics pointed the way toward the old apartment in Sendling where I grew up. Solving the riddle was rewarded with a shot of schnapps for everyone.
The next stop was supposed to be 750 meters back in the direction we’d come from. So, a bit confused, I stumbled toward Harras, not sure what the actual destination was.
The second stop was the Harras Edeka, where we used to buy candy all the time back then. Here, I had to buy an alcopop drink. Back then, those drinks were still easy to tell apart from other alcoholic beverages, but now there are so many mixed drinks—none of which are actually called “alcopops” anymore— so a specific drink was given as a hint.
With Bine’s help, I wandered around the Edeka, and after a bit of searching, we found the right mint-flavored beer mix. So, off to the register and then out... But then the cashier suddenly asked me for my ID. Completely baffled, I rummaged through my wallet for it while I could already see Alyona standing there grinning...Aha, someone must have tipped him off.
Outside, we naturally tasted the prize, and it actually wasn’t half bad. But there was no break yet; instead, the next clue came in the form of a song from the Buffy musical episode and the question of where we had acted out and recorded that part back then (we reenacted the musical episode of the TV series and recorded it with a video camera. Luckily, the result was never found again).
So we headed to a playground on Neuhofer Berg where the next clue was hidden. Since I also enjoy geocaching, the clue was hidden accordingly. It took me a little longer to find it. Meanwhile, the girls kept themselves entertained with snacks and playground swings.
The note was pinned under the trash can and contained a slightly modified story from our youth, which led us down to the Thalkirchner Bridge and to the Flaucher. Here we also took a short break with beer and snacks.
We used to celebrate birthdays here often and would sit by the Isar until late at night.
I then followed the next clue to the old Jewish cemetery, where we filmed the Buffy finale scene back then, and here, too, another clue was hidden in the area. I quickly found the report card with the poor grades and knew immediately where the journey was headed. For this stop, I first had to work up the courage with a drink, because Klenze High School isn’t exactly one of my fondest memories—except that I met most of my friends there and am really glad we’re still so close today.
At Klenze, we started with a shot on the school grounds and took some photos, after which we were approached by two students. They were very curious about what a horde of tipsy women was doing on the grounds. We chatted a bit and realized that the students have apparently become better-behaved since our time... Back then, there were disciplinary proceedings several times a year, but that hasn’t happened in a long time now.
Not far from Klenze, we finally met up with the last two girls, Corinna and Velvet, who had spent half the day struggling with the rental car, which had broken down. Then we set off on the long drive to Kufstein, where we checked into a really quaint place to stay—complete with a welcoming cat.
In the evening, we also had a nice program with an Austrian dinner and a unique gin bar in Kufstein, part of which was carved into the rock, and you could still clearly see the bare stone.
We started the weekend off relaxed with a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, featuring fresh eggs and rolls.
Afterward, we tried out the sauna behind the house and cooled off in the cool drizzle. Anna S. even jumped into the freezing-cold swimming pond. I didn’t dip more than my toes into the icy water.
During the day, we played a few bachelorette party and drinking games and just relaxed. In one game, Simon was asked questions beforehand and I had to guess his answers. A few times, our answers even matched. It was definitely a lot of fun.
On Sunday, we wrapped up the trip with a group brunch at a monastery restaurant on the way home and then said our warm goodbyes in Vaterstetten.
Velvet had to clear the bachelorette party decorations out of the car before returning it, since there were quite a few decorations. Cars driving by definitely knew right away what we were celebrating.
I’m so happy about this wonderful and well-planned weekend with the girls, and I hope there will be many more adventures together ❤️.
