Hens Night Berit
The weekend before the big day, my girlfriends whisked me away to a wonderful bachelorette party.

On April 4th, the big day finally arrived; the six of us headed to the Vaterstetten town hall for the wedding ceremony.
That morning, I really struggled to get my hair into a presentable style. Thankfully, Regina helped secure the bun with a few more hairpins and what felt like an entire bottle of hairspray, so it would stay in place all day.
The rest was done quickly, and Simon was ready in no time, so there was still enough room for a small breakfast for the four of us with my future in-laws, Regina and Klaus.
Shortly after ten, my parents joined us, and at 10:40 a.m. we set off on the short walk across the field to the registry office. The two fathers didn’t miss the chance to capture every step on camera.
The ceremony itself was nice, if not particularly moving, but the registrar did his best. Signing with my new name still felt a bit strange, even though I’d already signed for Simon’s packages with his last name every now and then.
I found the ceremony, held in the small circle of our parents, completely sufficient and wonderful.
Back home, we toasted with sparkling wine and enjoyed Simon’s cooking, and in the afternoon—still stuffed—we paid a visit to the cows at the Reitsberger Hof (a Little Farm with a cafe and Restaurant) and had some cake.
It was a very lovely day together that couldn’t have been better ❤️.
