Day 125 Floating Market

Gepubliseer: 16.08.2017

The reason why we are still in Bangkok is the Floating Market. It's only on Saturdays and Sundays and we wanted to visit one.

Our Thai friends accompanied us again, so we didn't have to worry about which market is the best and how to get there.

At the boat landing site, there was quite a commotion. Many boats and only a narrow canal. We were also warned when boarding never to hold our fingers or hands on the edges of the boat. It quickly became apparent why. The boats crashed into each other every few seconds.

But once you've escaped the chaos at the starting point, you can enjoy the ride and marvel at what the various sellers on their boats and at the stalls on the shore are selling.

As it was a hot morning, we treated ourselves to a coconut ice cream in a coconut.

After about 1 hour on the river, we had seen everything.

We drove to another floating market a few kilometers away by car to have lunch there.

This time we didn't board a boat but strolled along the shore through the various stalls. For lunch, we didn't sit down at a restaurant but tried various dishes as we pleased.

Most of it was very delicious.

Even the monsoon rain that started didn't bother us much, even though it poured.

Back in Bangkok, we prepared our luggage because tonight we're taking the night bus to Chiang Mai (a town in northern Thailand). We said goodbye to our friends and got on the bus, we now have a 9-hour journey ahead of us.

Wie viel zahlt man für so einen Nachtbus von Bangkok nach Chiang Mai? Interessanter Blog, macht Lust auf mehr! :)
