We have already had sun, beach, city, rain. And now snow too! Who would have expected it to snow at the Grand Canyon! We started the day at a chilly 0.5 degrees. As we found out, it was the first day with snow this season here. Originally, we planned to take a helicopter tour over the canyon. Unfortunately, it was canceled due to bad weather.
So we had no choice but to continue without this activity. Our journey took us to Horseshoe Bend.
On the way, we encountered a real snowstorm. But we didn't get bored. During our snow safari, we spotted deer, elk, and even a wolf. All that's missing now is a bear. We had brunch at Denny's. Highly recommended and delicious. Luckily, we left the bad weather halfway behind. When we arrived at Horseshoe Bend, we parked the car and walked the 15-minute path. The view is truly worth it. Just a few centimeters in front of our feet, it drops steeply for hundreds of meters. And in the midst of this hole, there is a rock in the shape of a horseshoe. The Colorado River surrounds this formation with such clear water that you can even see the bottom from some points at the height.
Next, we headed towards Bryce Canyon. This drive on our journey is among the most scenic. Picturesque rock formations, mountains illuminated by the sun, and changing types of rocks. We will definitely come back here to enjoy nature.
Our motel also has a restaurant where we had dinner. The special atmosphere was enhanced by live music.
Tomorrow, we will visit Bryce Canyon and encounter warmer temperatures in Death Valley.
