Our way leads us to Kerikeri. Here there is a kind of mini Hessenpark. Three houses are still in their original condition, including the Stone Shop, which has always been and still is a department store since its founding.
Afterwards we drove to the Rainbow Waterfall and could really see why it is called that. 😄 Drove along the coast for a while, went swimming in the sea and then relaxed in our own whirlpool. What more could you want!
In the evening we wanted to spend a nice evening at Charlotte's, a restaurant right on the wharf overlooking the bay. Unfortunately, the Barth-Lehnfeld restaurant trauma struck.
Explanation, what is the Barth-Lehnfeld restaurant trauma:
Barths, five of us and Lehnfelds (Sabine and Romanus with 3 of their 4 children) wanted to celebrate New Year's Eve in Miami (the year, I don't know right now). Romanus had ordered a 6-course New Year's Eve menu at the Hilton Miami Beach. This meal went as follows:
3 of us received their first course promptly. 2 then a little later and the remaining 5 received their first course after the others had already received the second course. Then nothing happened. An hour passed and when asked, the staff became a little rude. It was approaching midnight. When the third course was served for some, it was over with the fun. We sent the course back and Ralf, our hero, spoke to the manager with the result that the evening did not incur any costs. However, some were very hungry, including poor Maurice, who only wanted to eat the main course. This trauma weighs on both families and we experienced it again with the Lehnfelds in Nuremberg. Dear Sabine and dear Romanus, you are now out of the trauma, because now it is the Barth's restaurant trauma.
So what happened at Charlotte's, first our drink order was forgotten. After the starter, nothing came, another drink order was forgotten again. After a wait of one hour, we paid and left. Oh well, 6 oysters are also sufficient for dinner. 😆
